THE FARM SHARE

Membership
As a member of the Elmer Farm, you will receive fresh vegetables, flowers and herbs from mid-June until the end of October. In exchange, members sign a contract for the season and agree to pay in advance or in installments for the share. As a member, you and your family will learn about how and where your food is grown.

Produce
We grow over 35 different vegetables and value the importance of growing heirloom varieties. You will discover a wide selection of eggplant and peppers, over 15 varieties of tomatoes and an exciting mix of greens. You can expect to try something new in your farm share.

Share Size
You will have the opportunity to customize your share to meet your family's needs. While some crops in short supply may have limits to ensure everyone gets enough, in general, you will be able to take whatever you expect to eat in a week.

Cost
The share is offered on a sliding scale based on the size of your family and your ability to pay. You choose the price that best matches your situation. We ask for payments in advance or in installments. Nobody will be excluded by the inability to pay. We proudly participate in the NOFA Vermont Farm Share program to make your share more affordable.

Pick Up on the Farm
Each week, you will come to Elmer Farm to pick up your vegetables. We are conveniently located on Route 116 in East Middlebury. The vegetables will displayed on tables similar to what you would see at a farmers market or grocery store. You will also have the opportunity to harvest herbs and cut your own flowers from the field.

Farm Share Agreement

As a farm share member, you trust us, the farmers, to provide you with the highest quality vegetables and an ample selection of crops for your share. As farmers, we work to the best of our ability to grow these crops successfully under a wide range of growing conditions. Ultimately, farming is largely weather dependent. Under adverse growing conditions, some crops not produce very well or at all. This is a risk that the members agree to take. However, in favorable conditions, the bounty can be outstanding and you benefit greatly from this abundance. Your advanced payment helps us with the substantial cost of getting these crops started and assures us of your commitment. Thank you.
