SHARE THE HARVEST

The Elmer Farm grows more than thirty five different kinds of vegetables, a variety of flowers and a selection of herbs. We harvest from mid– June through the end of October. While no two growing seasons are the same, below is a partial list and description of what your weekly share might consist of through-out the season.

JUNE Start the summer with crisp lettuce, brilliant radishes, zesty scallions, sugar snap peas, tender broccoli, sweet spinach, colorful rainbow chard and stunning Hakurei turnips suited for salads or stir fry, an Elmer Farm favorite.

JULY As the summer heats up, enjoy fragrant culinary herbs, flavorful carrots, crunchy green beans, baby beets, plentiful salad greens and a multitude of unique varieties of cucumbers, summer squash and zucchini.

AUGUST The farm is exploding with flavor. Expect an array of red, orange & yellow heirloom tomatoes and sweet peppers, along with new red potatoes, creamy eggplant and savory garlic and onions. Cut your own flowers for a radiant bouquet to bring home.

SEPTEMBER Fall arrives. Cooler nights ripen vitamin packed kale and robust cabbage. august crops continue to produce with warm days. Heavenly winter squash and pie pumpkins are ready. Start baking!

OCTOBER The harvest season ends with an abundance of wholesome root crops including parsnips, carrots, beets and turnips. Feast on hearty cold loving crops such as Brussels sprouts, leeks and cauliflower. A perfect time of year for nourishing soups.
